02 / THE MAKER’S MINDSET

A notebook full of questions. A factory shaped by answers.

For ENNIKA’s founder, making a better floor means staying close to the process. Handwritten notes record ideas, trials and refinements. Machines are adapted, materials explored and problems worked through, one detail at a time. This hands-on approach is the foundation of our product development.

YOUR FLOORING QUESTIONS

A little clarity.
A confident choice.

Explore the practical details before choosing your floor. For product-specific guidance, speak with our team about your colour, format and project.

What is SPC flooring?

SPC stands for Stone Plastic Composite. It is a rigid-core flooring format with a decorative surface that creates a timber-look finish. Compare the thickness, wear layer, locking system and installation requirements of the specific product when choosing your floor.

How does SPC flooring differ from timber flooring?

Timber flooring has a real wood surface; SPC uses a decorative timber-look layer over a composite core. Their feel, care requirements and repair options differ. SPC is not refinished by sanding like timber. A physical sample helps you compare the colour, texture and feel.

Is ENNIKA flooring waterproof, and where can it be installed?

Water performance and room suitability depend on the selected product and its installation instructions. A water-resistant or waterproof board does not make the whole floor flood-proof or replace a wet-area waterproofing system. Wipe up spills promptly, and ask us to confirm suitability before specifying bathrooms, laundries or other areas exposed to water.

Is SPC flooring a good choice for homes with pets?

Consider the selected product's wear layer, finish and care instructions. Scratch resistance does not mean scratch-proof. Keep claws trimmed, remove grit regularly, use suitable furniture pads and clean up spills promptly to help protect the surface.

How should I clean my floor? Can I use a steam mop?

Remove loose dust and grit with a soft broom or a suitable vacuum head. Follow the product's care guide for damp mopping and approved cleaning products. Avoid abrasive cleaners and standing water. Do not use steam cleaning unless the selected product's written care instructions expressly allow it.

Can SPC flooring be installed over an existing floor?

An installer should assess the existing surface before work begins. It must meet the selected product's requirements for flatness, dryness, stability and cleanliness. Existing damage, moisture, soft coverings and changes in floor height may require preparation or removal.

Do I need an underlay, and is the floor suitable for an apartment?

Check whether the selected product has an attached backing and which underlays or moisture barriers its installation guide permits. Extra underlay is not automatically suitable. For apartments, have the installer check the building's acoustic requirements and the test evidence for the proposed floor, underlay and subfloor assembly.

Can ENNIKA flooring be used with underfloor heating?

Compatibility must be confirmed for the exact product and heating system before installation. Ask us for the relevant written guidance, including any surface-temperature limits, start-up procedure and installation conditions. Do not assume every SPC product is suitable for every heating system.

Which colours are available in herringbone?

Our website currently shows herringbone examples of Honey Blackbutt (OSK8215-1), New Sport Gum (OSK8081-4) and Highland Crest (OSK8222-4). Contact us to confirm current availability, dimensions and specifications. Room visualisations are indicative; choose your floor using a physical sample.

How do I request a sample, quote or warranty information?

Use our enquiry form to tell us your preferred colour, product code, location and project details. We can discuss sample arrangements and the information needed for a quote. ENNIKA provides a 10-year quality warranty. Request the warranty document for your selected product before ordering, including its coverage, exclusions, installation and care conditions.

Installation, care and warranty requirements vary by product. Ask for the current documentation for your selected ENNIKA floor.
